People talking during a movie

Does anyone else get annoyed when people are commenting a lot, joking, or looking at their phone during a movie? Not just at the theater but let's say you and your friends are having a movie night at someone's house and someone's doing those things

Why do people have to that?

In the cinema, yeah, it's quite annoying. When with friends it depends on the context. If it's a new movie that everyone is looking forward to, then it might be annoying, but if it's just rewatching a movie, or a "bad movie" night then part of the fun comes from the commentary with friends.

I don't have a problem with people looking at their phones, even in a cinema. As long as they're not making any noise, why would I care?

Me and my friends are actually pretty bad for talking during movies at the cinema, mostly making jokes. We do make an effort to whisper, but we've had to hold in laughter, and failed, on many occasions, which I imagine doesn't go down well with the other cinema goers. So because of that I'm not really that bothered by people talking. It only bothers me when they make no effort to keep their volume to a minimum.

People playing with their phones doesn't bother me because the movie usually keeps my attention.

In my experience, most movies are rather loud in the theatres. So as long as you are whispering, which most people tend to do, then you really don't notice anything. But I do get angry if there is a person who is intentionally be a loudmouthed a** just to do it. That doesn't happen that often though

At the movie theaters it's annoying. Hanging out in someones room or house watching a movie and someone is talking doesn't really bother me that much, especially if it's a movie I've seen.

The biggest thing that annoys me is the people that repeat the line that was JUST said in the movie. Why are you doing that? We all heard it.

The sound in a theatre really depends on the movie being shown. Trust me when I say: Twilight New Moon was impossible to watch because of all the squealing fangirls who went nuts at any shirtless scene.
A Shadow is merely Darkness in the presence of Light

These types of people should be shot on sight after the movie.

I've done that myself a few times, so it doesn't annoy me, especially because audiences here tend to stay really quiet.

Now, looking at their phone in the middle of the movie, that certainly annoys me.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I actually haven't experienced this much, had a few people tell me and friends to be quiet but usually we aren't very loud.

The nearest cinema isn't that busy so I guess it's quiet enough for people to talk without having to shout.

On occasion there has been bratty kids or the worst of all, babies.

Why the f*** do you take your baby to a cinema? A loud cinema...

Little girls screaming and freaking out during a horror movie that is not actually scary, babies crying, fully-grown adults talking loudly throughout the entire movie, laughing during inappropriate moments... I've seen it all.

And I have no shame, so if it gets bad enough, I will shush them or make a big deal out of it just to make them shut the hell up. If I paid to see a film in theaters, I'm damn well going to see the film that I paid money for without you being a babbling, giggling idiot right next to me.

It's really annoying and disrespectful. If you have to say something, just whisper.

I don't mind if people look at their phone as it doesn't directly effect me, but it does make me wonder why they bothered to pay for the movie if they're on it for a long time.

I like to think that people who talk during movies are compensating for having a small penis.

People who use their phones bug me, as I find my eyes are drawn to the light very easily and it distracts me from the movie.
A few whispered comments are fine, but if you have people making noise and giggling etc it's a pain.

That's not funny, movie shootings aren't something to joke about.
